A Closer Look at Felt Shark

What matters, in the order it matters.

Brand new?

We start at the beginning: what’s a suit, what beats what, how a hand works, and poker etiquette.

Nobody has to know you’re a beginner.

Already play?

We start with the biggest mistakes — the leaks — that cost money.

Ten mistakes. Worst first.

Tiger teaches one leak at a time, worst first — then makes you use it before you move on.

The ten leaks, in the order we teach them — limping deepest.
  1. 1 THE LIMP Limping instead of raising or folding
  2. 2 THE WRONG SEAT Playing the same hands from every position
  3. 3 THE TIMID RAISE Raising too small before the flop
  4. 4 THE FREE FLOP Checking the flop after you raised
  5. 5 BETTING INTO A CROWD Betting the flop when too many players are in
  6. 6 THE AUTOPILOT BET Betting the same size on every flop
  7. 7 THE HOPEFUL CALL Calling too wide and chasing too long
  8. 8 THE MISSED BET Checking when worse hands would still call
  9. 9 THE DEAD-END BET Betting the turn without planning the river
  10. 10 THE LAST CARD Paying off — or missing value — on the river

How Felt Shark teaches you

Learn it. Play it. Prove it.

Learn

Don’t memorize the answer. Learn to see the decision.

A Felt Shark lesson: Tiger asks one question about one hand, with the table drawn underneath it.

Play

Face it again with cards, chips, pressure and Villains who behave like real players.

The Pup Tank table mid-hand, with the fold, check, call and raise buttons live under the felt.

Prove

First with help. Then without. We only call out a leak when we can actually measure it.

SharkBait's ten numbered teeth, with the first one lit orange.
You limped into the pot. That’s Leak #1 — and SharkBait caught it.

Wrong? Tiger shows you what fooled you — and what to notice next time.

You’ve played these people before.

The caller. The aggressor. The rock. The player who won’t fold.

Which poker player are you?

Never played a hand, or played thousands — Felt Shark starts where you are.

“I don’t know all the rules and exactly how to play.” Or: “I know I am making mistakes — I just don’t know which ones yet.”

12px vs. 18px. See the difference.

OUR MOCK-UP 12px Common App-sized Text A poker lesson set in 12px type: the heading, the explanation and the coach's question are all small and low-contrast.
Felt Shark 18px minimum instructional text The same lesson in Felt Shark: 18px minimum type, a bright heading, a full-width Continue button and the cards drawn large.

Felt Shark instructional type starts at 18px. Bigger type. Clearer contrast. Bigger controls. Because everyone on this bus has to be able to read it.

Why Felt Shark exists

“For 25 years, no one told me my biggest leak.”

“Then a friend said, ‘Stop limping preflop.’ (Preflop: before any shared cards are dealt.) That one correction changed how I played my game. I wondered, ‘What’s my next biggest leak?’”

“That question started my journey to build a new poker training app.”

“I’m not a poker pro. I’m a teacher. So I built the poker course and app I couldn’t find.”

Felt Shark started with my own desire to become a better recreational poker player. I wanted to understand the mistakes I was making—not just memorize more poker theory. So I combined that journey with 40 years of instructional design and teaching experience to create the kind of poker training I wanted for myself: simple, methodical, engaging, and built to turn knowledge into real confidence and skill at the table.
